ok, i kinda realised that i havent blogged about my holiday last decXD
and since i'm stoning at home according to everyone,
i decided to blog.
BEWARE.
this is a very very long and picture filled post.
and i mean VERY.

ok.. so i went to TAIWAN.
and believe me when i say that it really really did touch my heart.
it's the first time that i didnt feel like coming back to sg after a holiday.
and although i dont feel the pangs quite so strongly now,
somewhere in my heart and mind,
im wishing that i could be in Taiwan right now.
it's the feeling ....
to put it shortly,
i have a heart for taiwan.
and i gave my heart to her too.
oh well..
anyway,
on to the pictures!

DAY ONE (14/12/07)

so yeah, daddy brought mum and i to the airport(:
and we had POPEYES!
yummy!
and ya,
our tourgroup consisted of my mum's friends and their families.

my parents(:

a MOUNTAIN of luggage and guess what?
most of it wasnt even oursXD

i love my mum(:

the pod that beanie lent me.

we arrived at around 7 plus at the TaoYuan International airport..
and then checked into our hotel before heading for our first meal in terrific Taiwan(:

and yes, Taiwan DID touch my heart.

my first meal!
it doesnt look very pretty but it tasted SUPER good.

and this is one picture i'll keep for the rest of my life(:
i asked to take a picture and she obliged...
she's the daughter of the owner of this shop!
i love the Taiwanese people... they're all super friendly.

and we kept on seeing dogs everywhere we went.
this is the FIRST dog i metXD
on the way back from dinner,
we passed by some road stalls and everyone wanted to try the foodXD
esp the smelly toufuXD

yup
and then we went back to the hotel to indulge in the street snacks and wine.
i love red wine.
mmmmmmm.
especially if the weather is unbearably cold.

DAY TWO
we woke up nice and early and went to the TAMSHUI FISHING WHARF
and i saw my first mounted policeman(:
horses are so so so so beautiful..
too bad singapore cant have mounted police all over the place.

and guess what?
ANOTHER DOG!
XD
a cute beagle with a sherlock holmes costume..
haha.

we next stopped somewhere for a bit of shopping..
it was kinda like a street market.

isnt this picture cool?
the whole picture is a mosiac made up of many many small pictures.
it's so darn cool.
and i found liu de hua's picture on a toilet bowl!

we then went to some memorial place...
with really really COOL soldiers.

they stand there unmoving for AN HOUR.
like wth.
AN HOUR!
and their marching is agonisingly slow.
i seriously admire them.

we then went to one of the night markets.. the name of which i shall edit in later.
and my mum chose to have teppanyaki for dinner(:
it was AWESOME.

and that is called 大畅包小畅 which literally means...
big intestine wrapping the small intestine.
mhm.

DAY THREE.
and on the third day, we travelled to 台中 to see the sun moon lake.
the view was BREATH TAKING.
i really know what they mean by 好山好水

there were some road stalls along the road where we were dropped off by the coach
and we happily went to spend more moneyXD
and aunty bee foon treated me to ice cream(:
it tasted realll good.
it was mango flavoured with milk in the middle.

further down the road,
we reached the peacock garden.
it was a beautiful though small place...
there was a large space for the peacocks but quite a small place for us humans.

my dearest mother had a hangoverXD

an ALBINO PEAHEN!

we travelled somemore and nearing the evening,
we reached the place where they harvest salt.
however, from what i see,
i think it has been transformed to suit the taste of tourists.

a cute little train(:

and i got to ride a pony!
but now that i think of it,
maybe i shouldnt have...
they kept smacking it to make it gallop and it was staggering:/
sigh.

there, the poor little pony.
there was another smaller one but due to the overwhelming number of pictures being uploaded,
i decided not to upload it.

yup,
that's the salt mountain.

and that, is a sunrise that i will never ever ever forget.

it was so windy that our hair was flying EVERYWHERE.
goodness.
we were trying so hard to take a photo.
later in the evening,
we went to the dream mall.
(srry for the lack of place names... i cant exactly rememberXD)
and the lot of us queued up to sit the hello kitty ferris wheel at the top of the mall.
it was super cool though i was quite upset it wasnt the one in taipei where they filmed why why love.

DAY FOUR

this place i remember...
we went to the fo guang shan
and to tell the truth,
i was pretty miffed by the neverending visits to temples or places that sell buddist artefacts..
because we went not one or twice but at least 6 to 7 times.
but oh well.
we have to be religiously tolerant.

see the squirrel?

to be honest, the view wasnt too bad either.
we had our lunch there...
which included PIG'S TROTTER(YET AGAIN)
we had it for at least every lunch and none of us kids touched it.
oh and when we were on travelling on the road again,
i saw the sea surrounding taiwan for the first time(:

and then we travelled up the mountain to the hot spring resort..
i didnt really get to experience the true hot sping though...
i tried it from my bathtub.
from the looks of things,
the hot spring in taipet may have been better.
the one i went to had a mixed bath and we were all afraid of the chee ko peks.
but the view there was really good.

DAY FIVE!

our BELOVED tour bus.

we travelled up winding mountain roads and reached taroko national park.
it was BREATHTAKINGLY AWESOME!
mountains surround you and a river rushes by below you..
the feeling is indescribable.

oh! those are the sugar packets i got for the guys(:
the latte from the coffee shop wasnt too shabby either.

that's me and then parsley.. followed by patriot and posh.

guo hao!XD we just KEEP trying to punch one another.

aunty bee choo and my mummy.

wei fang, aunty bee foon, mum and i

i have no clue what they were looking at..
maybe the people coming down from the steps.
anyway,
i love my mum's photography.
she NEVER fails to CRACK ME UP.XD
i taught her how to use the zoom and she ended up using it for everything including a picture of me trying to touch the mountain topXD
she kept saying i was too short until i realised that she was using the zoom.
but i love her all the same(:

failed attempt no. 1

and in order to prove to my mum that i could take a picture of her doing that..
(she's not much taller than me)

still,
FAILED ATTEMPT NO.2

in the end, i had to settle for thisXD

and here is peiwen, guo hao and jonathan. and the chihuahua judy.
i told you we met loads of dogs.

ironically, my mum is called judy too(:

and later in the evening,
we went to one of the largest granite factories in taiwan and guess what i found?
MICKEY!

my mum bought me a star jade necklace(:
and at our hotel,
we kinda realised the owner was an avid collecter of precious stones...
and wood.

and i have officially decided that i LOVE the 7 eleven in taiwan.
there are pictures of fahrenheit and S.H.E and other stars EVERYWHERE!

and i travelled FAR AND WIDE to look for wu zun billboards to take a photo for wan mei to seeXD
although there are like 7-elevens EVERYWHERE,
it was damn hard to find the billboard.
some were multilated beyond belief.

i could wake up to this every morning...

DAY SIX

our tourguide!
xiao zhang.
i saw the pacific ocean for the first time that day.
it was really really beautiful.
now i know why the portugese called taiwan FORMOSA.

and see the world through my eyes...
we were travelling back to taipei
and we continued the karaoke madness that started from the day beforeXD
apparently,
we were in the mountains so the police couldnt catch us for copyright issues.

pretty car!!!!
anyway,
MORE DOGS!!!!!

and here's wuzun againXD
this picture SERIOUSLY shows off how stunted we are.
pffts

and on and on we travelled...
and we reached jiu fen.
a place up in the mountains.
BRRRRRRR it was EFFING COLD!
i kept shivering nonstop.
but the beef noodle was DAMN GOOD!
jia yi!
you should try!
oh! i also tried mah jiang mian.
it was damn good too.
my mummy loves the noodle too.
and wei fang and i are just being spastic.
according to the boards,
this hand thing is called 爱的小手
cute?

man,
just LOOK AT THE FOG!
and then a highlight of the day was visiting the TAIPEI 101
the TALLEST building in the world.

and i got my wish.
I WENT TO XI MEN DING!
but the most disappointing thing of all was that i didnt get to see any stars.
damn.

the bubble tea was REAL GOOD.

ya,
believe it or not,
HELLO KITTY WAS ON A PLANE.
like wth.
HELLO KITTY!
well anyway,
tmr we're sorted to our classes and er
im in 1SC3 with sandra(:
yay.
someone familiar
yi pei's in that class too(:
YAY!
that's all..
i've been blogging for hours.
I MISS TAIWAN!
if i go to taiwan again
(which i hope to do every single year)
i will go on free and easy cause we REALLY wasted a lot of time travelling and taipei is what attracts me most anyway.
well,
I REALLY MISS TAIWAN!
